At the World Nuclear Exhibition 2025, Egis and EDF signed a new Memorandum of Cooperation (MoC) to explore collaboration opportunities within the framework of the Polish Nuclear Power Programme.
The agreement was signed by Vakisasai Ramany, Senior Vice-President in charge of International Nuclear Development at EDF, and Baptiste Pavy, Country Business Line Director for Poland, Energy & Sustainable Cities at Egis. This agreement marks a continuation of their shared ambition to contribute to Poland’s energy transition.
The Polish Nuclear Power Programme aims to develop, build, and operate two large-scale nuclear power plants based on pressurised water reactors, with a total installed capacity of 6 to 9 GWe. The Polish government has launched a competitive dialogue for the development of the second nuclear power plant, to which EDF has been officially invited.
Building on a previous cooperation agreement, Egis and EDF are now reaffirming their mutual interest to work together and identify areas where they can contribute their expertise to the EPR Polish Project and potentially other EPR developments worldwide.
This renewed partnership will enable Egis to:
- Explore its potential contribution to the design, engineering, and delivery of activities integrated into EPR projects in Poland and beyond;
- Support EDF in identifying and sourcing potential regional suppliers for EPR projects;
- Develop a shared understanding of Polish regulatory requirements related to Egis’ prospective scopes of work.
This new phase of cooperation highlights Egis's commitment to supporting the global expansion of low-carbon nuclear energy.
For 80 years, Egis has been supporting its clients throughout the entire life cycle of nuclear facilities, from design to decommissioning, including operation and waste management, offering multidisciplinary and integrated consulting and engineering services.
On the Polish market, Egis operates in the mobility infrastructure, environmental protection, general and industrial construction, and energy sectors including nuclear. For over 25 years, Egis’ 500 local experts have been supporting clients across Poland.
